June 29, 2024Celluma Light Therapty
Celluma is a light therapy device treatment for wrinkles, acne and pain conditions. The light emitting diode (LED) delivered through Celluma helps compromised cells regenerate naturally. As the light is applied to the tissue, there is absorption in the mitochondria and cell membranes by chromophores. This in turn elevates ATP synthesis and forms ROS (Reactive Oxygen Spevies). Mitosis and cell proliferation occurs which then repairs tissue and controls pain. There is no such thing as going overboard with Celluma. It is recommended Celluma be done twice a week for best results, but the light therapy is safe to use almost daily!
Celluma For Acne
Mild to moderate acne vulgaris can be treated with the blue light settings (465
nanometers). This chemical-free alternative treatment combines blue light and red-light therapy to trigger an all-natural affect in human tissue, killing acne-causing bacteria, decreasing inflammation and improving tone, texture, and clarity. This treatment can be used on its own or as an addon to facials, DiamondGlow facials, microdermabrasions, dermaplanes or chemical peels.
Celluma for Aging
Throughout time and as we grow older, our bodies produce less and less collagen and elastin which cause the signs of aging such as fine lines and coarse wrinkles. Red (640 nanometers) and infrared (880 nanometers) are utilized to combat these signs of aging and enhance your body’s natural ability to generate collagen and elastin by activating the fibroblast cells. Light therapy = enhanced Krebs (energy) cycle = greater ATP availability = more collagen. This treatment is a great add on to Agnes RF, RF Microneedling, injectables and laser treatments. If you are on the fence about trying those corrective treatments, this can also be used alone or with a relaxing anti-aging focused facial as a start to your medspa journey.
Celluma for Pain Management
Celluma can be beneficial even beyond the aesthetic world. Pain such as arthritis, muscle strains, ankle sprains or knee injury’s can be treated with infrared (880 nanometers) light. Compared to the other light settings, infrared light can penetrate deeper into muscle and joint tissue to ease pain. The light stimulates the release of nitric oxide which allows blood vessels to increase, allowing more blood flow and oxygen. This process then in turn increases ATP production which helps in relieving pain, inflammation and promoting tissue regeneration.
Celluma makes the perfect “lunch time” treatment. Only 30 minutes of your day is needed for this treatment on its own and there is no downtime afterwards. This treatment can be used on its own or as an add-on to signature facials, Spectra Laser Peels, DiamondGlow facials, microdermabrasions, dermaplane or chemical peels. When calling to schedule Celluma with your other services, just let front desk know and they can be sure to give your treatment time an extra 30 minutes.
